Cynthia
Beatriz Goldbarg es educadora internacional bilingue y ha trabajado con niños, jóvenes y adultos desde
hace 20 años. Ha creado y dirigido la Academia de Desarrollo Profesional en
CentroNía (organización educativa multicultural y bilingüe ubicada en
Washington DC). Desde ahí capacitó a educadores y administradores, supervisó el
área de Educación Inicial, desarrolló lineamientos pedagógicos, supervisó la
apertura de jardines y hogares de cuidado infantil y preparó escuelas para obtener la acreditación
nacional como aval de excelencia educativa.
Formó parte
del Comité Asesor del Alcalde de Washington DC en Educación Infantil (MACECD) por ocho años. En el 2006
fue seleccionada como coordinadora del Subcomité de
Desarrollo Profesional dentro el comité general. También formó parte del equipo
docente del Instituto de Liderazgo en Educación Infantil (ECLI) y enseñó en la Universidad del
Distrito de Columbia en Washington DC, Estados Unidos.
Como capacitadora bilingüe, ha viajado por casi todo Estados Unidos como
Especialista en Capacitación y Asistencia Técnica de Head Start. El mismo es un programa
federal gratuito de educación, salud y asistencia social para garantizar acceso a familias de bajos recursos. A
través de sus años de experiencia en Argentina y en Estados Unidos, ha sido
docente de niños pequeños, jóvenes y adultos. Ha trabajado como coordinadora y
directora de programas educativos en ambos países. Ha presentado ponencias en
conferencias locales y regionales. Ha desarrollado programas
de capacitación para docentes, directivos, inspectores y otros funcionarios gubernamentales (de EEUU y de otros países). También ha creado capacitaciones a medida para escuelas, organizaciones
y empresas en ambos países.
Bajo su liderazgo,
más de 800 educadores multilingües se graduaron del Programa de Capacitación
Docente que
ella desarrolló para la Credencial Nacional del Asociado en Desarrollo Infantil, el único programa con fondos del estado que proveía capacitación
bilingüe, en español y multilingüe en Washington DC. En el 2005, el
Concejo Nacional De La Raza la seleccionó para
formar parte de un equipo nacional de sólo 20 expertos e investigadores en educación infantil
bilingüe, que funcionó como asesor del proyecto “Sembrando
Semillas”, con sedes en Washington DC, Miami y Los Ángeles - ciudades con
alto porcentaje de familias latinas.
Cynthia Beatriz Goldbarg is a bilingual
international educator and she has worked with children, youth and adults for 20
years. She has created and run the Professional Development Academy at CentroNía
(a bilingual multicultural learning center in Washington DC). She
trained educators and administrators, supervised the Early Childhood Education
department, developed educational goals, supervised the opening of child care
centers and child development homes, and coached schools to obtain the national
accreditation (NAEYC) as a mark of educational quality.
She was part of the Mayor’s
Advisory Committee on Early Childhood Development (MACECD) for eight years and in
2006 she was selected to act as the coordinator of the Professional Development
Subcommittee. She was also a member of the Early Childhood Leadership Institute's
team and as such she taught at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington DC,
USA.
As a bilingual trainer, she has
traveled around the US as the Education Specialist for the Training and
Technical Assistance Support Center (TASC) at Migrant Head Start, the free
federal program that provides education, health and social services to poor families,
integrating them to school systems. Throughout her years of experience
both in her native Argentina and in the US, she has taught babies, children, youth
and adults. She has worked as coordinator and director of diverse educational
programs, she has presented seminars and workshops in local and regional
conferences, she has developed training programs for teachers, directors,
inspectors and other government personnel (both from the US and from abroad),
and she has designed and implemented customized training for schools,
organizations and businesses in both countries.
Under her leadership, almost 800 multilingual
educators graduated from the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Training
Program that she developed, the only state funded program that provided multilingual
and bilingual training, as well as training to monolingual Spanish speakers in
Washington DC. In 2005, the National Council of La Raza selected her to be part
of a team of only 20 national experts and researchers in bilingual early
childhood education that worked as an advisory body to the project “Sembrando
Semillas”, with hubs in Washington DC, Miami and Los Angeles - cities with a high
density of Latino families.
Her experience is sustained by a degree in Early Childhood Education from Argentina (Agnon Institute); a Master (with honors) in Educational Administration from the George Washington University (Mount Vernon College Campus) in Washington DC; a Certification in Business Administration from Georgetown University in Washington DC; a Certification in Early Childhood Education from WestEd and the California Department of Education; and numerous training programs in which she has participated throughout her career.
Since her return to Argentina in 2006, she has worked as a consultant in educational leadership for national and international clients. Some of those clients are: School of Education at the Universidad de San Andrés (Argentina), Teaching Strategies Inc. (USA), Centro Hebreo Ioná (Argentina), Early Childhood Education Journal (USA), George Washington University (USA), and the World Organization of Preschool Education - OMEP (Argentina Chapter) among others.
